Your NDIS therapy funding is there to help you work towards the goals that matter to you. But when therapy is delivered in your home or community, part of that budget can also be used on your therapist's travel. For many participants, especially those whose funding has changed, choosing where therapy happens can make a real difference to how far their budget goes.
That's why Forbes Care has a dedicated clinic space in Buderim, where you can have safe, private, one-to-one therapy with your qualified Occupational Therapist.
When an NDIS therapist travels to see you, they may be able to claim their travel time from your plan, as well as some travel-related costs such as vehicle expenses. These are separate from your therapy session itself.
Travel is an important part of home-based therapy, and in many situations seeing you at home is the best option. But over the course of a plan, travel charges can add up and reduce the funding available for therapy sessions.
When you come to us, there is no therapist travel to charge to your plan. That means more of your funding can go towards what matters most: your therapy.
Clinic sessions can help you:
Our clinic is designed to be calm, comfortable and welcoming. Every session is one-to-one with your Occupational Therapist, in a private and secure space where you can focus on your goals without distractions.
You'll see the same qualified, experienced therapists who provide our home and community visits, with the same person-centred, practical approach.
Clinic-based therapy doesn't replace home visits altogether. Some supports are best delivered where you live, such as home safety assessments, home modifications, in-home rehabilitation and setting up assistive technology in your own environment.
Many participants choose a mix of both: clinic sessions for regular therapy, and home or community visits when they're genuinely needed. Your therapist can help you work out a plan that suits your goals and your budget.
If your funding has changed, or you'd like to make your plan go further, we're happy to talk through your options. You can also speak with your plan manager or support coordinator about how clinic sessions could fit into your plan.
Our clinic is located at Suite 15, 102 Burnett Street, Buderim.
