For Caroline, becoming an Occupational Therapist was driven by a genuine interest in people and a deep respect for the journeys individuals take toward recovery.
“I enjoy working with people and feel privileged to be part of people’s lives and their journey to recovery,” Caroline shares.
Today, Caroline brings more than 15 years of experience in adult mental health to her role as a Senior Occupational Therapist at Forbes Care, supporting individuals across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie. Her work centres on helping people reconnect with meaningful roles in their lives—whether that’s parenting, returning to work, building routines, or rediscovering activities that bring purpose and enjoyment.
At the heart of Caroline’s practice is a belief that recovery is not just about managing symptoms—it’s about supporting people to participate in the roles and activities that give their lives meaning.
She is particularly passionate about working with adults experiencing mental health challenges, helping them rebuild confidence, develop practical strategies, and move forward in ways that feel achievable and sustainable.
“I enjoy the creative and therapeutic aspects of Occupational Therapy, especially supporting people to engage in meaningful roles and occupations such as parenting, work, art, exercise, or cooking.”
Caroline understands that recovery looks different for everyone. Her focus is on meeting people where they are and working alongside them to build practical skills, routines, and supports that reflect their individual goals and circumstances.
Caroline describes her clinical approach as holistic, therapeutic, and flexible, adapting her support to each person’s needs in the moment.
Her practice is grounded in trauma-informed care and a strengths-based approach, recognising the importance of safety, trust, and empowerment in the therapeutic relationship. She works collaboratively with clients, families, and support teams to create strategies that are both realistic and meaningful.
Central to her work is the understanding that progress often starts with connection.
“Being present in the moment is vital in building and sustaining rapport. Validation of client concerns and tapping into their personal interests and goals is also paramount.”
Caroline’s therapy style combines strong therapeutic relationships with evidence-informed strategies that support recovery and participation in everyday life.
Her clinical toolkit includes approaches such as:
These approaches help individuals develop practical coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and build confidence in managing daily routines, relationships, and responsibilities.
For Caroline, therapy is always focused on real-life outcomes—supporting people to feel more capable, connected, and engaged in their day-to-day lives.
Caroline was drawn to Forbes Care by the organisation’s strong commitment to client-centred practice and collaborative teamwork.
“I was inspired by the opportunity to work with such a great group of client-centred, holistic, and innovative Occupational Therapists in a culture that recognises and values this work.”
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, Caroline is also passionate about contributing to a learning-focused environment—sharing her knowledge, supporting colleagues, and continuing to grow alongside the team.
She is particularly looking forward to building relationships with clients and learning from the diverse clinical experience within the Forbes Care team.
Whether she is helping someone rebuild daily routines, strengthen coping strategies, or reconnect with meaningful roles in their life, Caroline brings calm, experience, and genuine compassion to her work.
Her focus is simple but powerful: supporting people to move forward at their own pace, with the right supports in place.
At Forbes Care, we’re proud to have Caroline on our team—helping individuals build confidence, strengthen independence, and live meaningful lives in their communities.
