For Lachlan, Occupational Therapy represents the perfect blend of practical problem-solving and human connection. Inspired by the opportunity to create meaningful, everyday change in people’s lives, Lachlan brings a strengths-based, client-led approach to each session—focusing not only on what his clients need, but who they are.
“I was drawn to OT because of its unique balance between practical support and personal connection. What inspired me most was the chance to help someone regain skills, confidence, and independence in truly meaningful ways.”
Lachlan brings a generalist clinical skillset to the Forbes Care team, with experience supporting clients of all ages. Whether it’s assistive technology, home modifications, or ongoing therapy, Lachlan draws on a broad foundation of knowledge to tailor his interventions. His flexible, calm nature has made him an invaluable part of the team—particularly in the Gympie region, where diverse and evolving caseloads are the norm.
His supervisor describes him as “a steady presence with a vast range of expertise and the ability to support both clients and colleagues with thoughtful, creative problem-solving.”
Lachlan’s approach to therapy is refreshingly grounded. Rather than focusing on isolated skill-building, he prefers to embed therapy into real-life, interest-based tasks—like planning a bus trip, cooking a meal, or budgeting for something meaningful. These practical strategies not only feel natural to his clients, but also promote lasting skill development and independence.
“I like using tasks that matter to the person—it keeps therapy engaging and makes progress feel achievable.”
Recently, Lachlan shared a win with one of his ongoing therapy clients, who lives with psychosocial disability. The client reported notable improvements in sleep and mood—something Lachlan credits to their consistent sessions focused on self-regulation, education, and routines. It's a testament to his belief that with trust, patience, and the right strategies, big changes can come from small steps.
Lachlan is confident in conducting functional assessments, writing NDIS reports, and translating complex support needs into clear, evidence-based recommendations. This clinical clarity—paired with his calm demeanour—has made him a reliable advocate and a trusted voice for both clients and stakeholders.
At Forbes Care, Lachlan has found a team that matches his values. Collaboration, learning, and shared clinical wisdom are key parts of the culture.
“Being part of a team where everyone brings different backgrounds and perspectives has been so valuable. When we’re faced with complex client presentations, it’s great to brainstorm and problem-solve together.”
Whether he’s recommending a home modification, guiding a client through daily living tasks, or providing long-term therapeutic support, Lachlan does so with quiet confidence and deep care.
At Forbes Care, we’re proud to have Lachlan as part of our senior team—offering practical expertise and person-centred care across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie.
